Shikha Malhotra had made the headlines in 2020, when she had returned to work as a nurse during COVID-19. A month after the release of her debut film Kaanchli Life in a Slough, she donned her white uniform and joined the Covid ICU in a BMC hospital, Mumbai. She helped many patients and was also promoted as a patient counsellor. She became a true inspiration for many, however, working in the field came with harsh consequences as she herself got covid.

She explained how she “could not even think of getting back to my acting profession.” Shikha went on to add that she gained a lot of weight due to “the steroids given to her.” After 2 years of recovery, she is now gearing up to “meet myself once again.
