Equatorial Guinea confirms outbreak of Marburg virus

The havoc of corona virus is not completely over yet. This is how the shocking information has come to light. A new virus has emerged in the African country of Equatorial Guinea. Marburg virus infection has killed 9 people so far and is more dangerous than Corona.

The Marburg virus found in Equatorial Guinea has similar symptoms to the Ebola virus and has infected large numbers of people. Common symptoms of Marburg virus are fever and chest pain.

Marburg is so dangerous that the patient can die if not treated on time. After the outbreak of the Marburg virus, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a dire warning. People have also been instructed to be cautious.

According to a World Health Organization statement, advance teams have been deployed in affected districts for contact tracing, isolation and treatment and care of people showing symptoms of the disease.

Marburg virus is very dangerous and the mortality rate after infection can reach up to 88 percent. WHO Regional Director Dr. Matshidiso Moiti said the Marburg virus infection spreads rapidly.

To prevent the spread of Marburg virus, WHO has deployed health emergency experts, infection control teams, labs and communication support systems. Marburg virus is transmitted from bats to humans.

It spreads from person to person through direct contact with body fluids, surfaces of an infected patient. There is no vaccine or cure yet for this virus, however, timely treatment can save the patient's life.
