It has been raining heavily in Konkan for the last 2 days. As a result, many rivers in the Konkan have been flooded. Many talukas in Ratnagiri district have been hit by heavy rains. Many houses in Chanderai and Tonde have been flooded due to flooding of Kajli river here. (Chiplun Flood)

It has been raining heavily in Ratnagiri district since Wednesday night. Therefore, Chanderai village has been hit by floods this year as well. Due to flooding at night, 100 shopkeepers in the market were stranded. Power supply was cut off in several villages in the city and taluka.

Due to high tide the water levels increased and caused flooding in the Pandharamad-Kamblewadi area near the city.

The city market has been hit the hardest by the continuous floods. The city market was flooded six times this season. Heavy rains lashed the city market on Thursday due to torrential rains since Wednesday evening.

The floodwaters hit Kushe Medical, Nawale Complex via Jawahar Chowk, Abhyankar Consumer Bazaar in the market and Urdu School via Munshinaka, while Malpekar Road was submerged.

However, the city council has appealed for vigilance considering the danger of floods and everyone has kept the items in a safe place. However, most of the shops have remained closed due to floods in the market.

The state and central governments are trying to evacuate the flood victims. Arrangements are being made to evacuate people to safer places.
