Fastag is no longer required at toll plaza, India may have new toll-collecting system

New Toll System: If you are paying the toll by stopping at the toll booth, now you don't need to pay this toll. The Government of India is planning to introduce a new toll system on national highways to facilitate movement of vehicles and people.

Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR) will read the vehicle's license plate and directly deduct the money from the car owner's bank account. These ANPR cameras will be installed at the entry and exit of the toll plaza and will capture the numbers of the trains. The existing FASTags system will be replaced by ANPR to reduce traffic congestion

According to a report by the Transport Corporation of India and IIM Kolkata, around Rs 1 lakh crore of fuel is wasted due to cars stopping at toll booths. Apart from this, trains stall at toll plazas causing delays and causing a loss of Rs 45 thousand crores. That is, a total of 1 lakh 45 thousand.

With the help of this new technology, number plates of cars will be scanned and money will be deducted directly from the car owner's bank account. The information about this new technology was given by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Parliament last year.

After this technology comes, the number plate installed in the cars will not be common, it will be equipped with GPS system. The Union Transport Ministry has ordered to install GPS number plates in new trains. Apart from this, old cars also have such GPS numbers.
