In recent times, we see disc brakes in almost all the bikes coming in the Indian market. For safety reasons, companies are providing disc brakes on most of their bikes. Disc brakes are more beneficial than drum brakes for better braking.

The number of disc brakes in a motorcycle varies depending on the power and weight of the motorcycle. Front single disc is commonly seen in motorcycles. In contrast, the superbike gets double discs at the front and a single disc at the rear wheel. Each of these discs has several holes.

One of the biggest causes of holes in disc brakes is that many times a vacuum builds up between the brake pad and the disc, which can cause the brake pad to stick to the disc.
