As impasse between the BJP and Shiv Sena continues over government formation in Maharashtra, a farmer from Beed district wrote a letter to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyar, urging to make him the Chief Minister till the differences are sorted out between the two parties.

Shrikant Vishnu Gadale wrote the letter to Governor Koshyar through Beed District Collector and stated he should be made the Chief Minister of the State for the meantime.

In his letter written in Marathi dated October 31, Gadale stated said that crops have got heavily damaged due to untimely rains and hence the state needs a government at the earliest for the betterment of the farmers.

The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won an absolute majority in the Maharashtra assembly polls with the former emerging as the single largest party in the state with 105 seats. Shiv Sena bagged 56 seats in the elections.

After the polls, Shiv Sena has been adamant about the implementation of the 50:50 formula proposed by BJP during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. The formula is a rotational arrangement in which a Chief Minister from each party will split the five-year term equally.NCP won 54 seats in the assembly while the Congress won 44 seats in the 288-member assembly.
