Pune: A 16-year-old found dead in his room after being accused of stealing money. The deceased is a student studying at residential training institute, which provide coaching for the NDA. According to reports he was driven into depression after the theft allegation on him. In connection with this case, the Fursungi police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the founder, director, CEO, and warden of Yashotej Academy.
The deceased student has been identified as Avadhut Ulhas Bade (aged 16, resident of Beed). His father, Ulhas Mhatardev Bade (aged 54, resident of Mauli Niwas, Anandnagar, Beed), has lodged a formal complaint regarding this matter at the Fursungi Police Station. According to information provided by the police, the accused include Tejas Padyakar Patil (aged 32, resident of Gaman Unnati Towers, Katraj-Kondhwa Road), Vikas Suresh Patil (aged 32, resident of Yashotej Academy, Handewadi), and Warden Vasant Tukaram Sarkate (aged 55, resident of Yashotej Academy, Handewadi).
The incident occurred on November 10, 2025, inside a residential room at Yashotej Academy in Handewadi. Avadhut Bade was an 11th-grade student and resided in the academy's hostel. He had been accused of stealing approximately ₹3,500 belonging to his roommate. In light of this allegation, Warden Vasant Sarkate informed him that he would be rusticated (expelled) from the academy.
The complaint alleges that pressure led Avadhut to depression, and the academy failed to notify his family or provide counseling. The academy's founder, director, and CEO are accused of negligence and failure to take timely action, contributing to Avadhut's depression and subsequent suicide by hanging in his room. Police Sub-Inspector Shambhuraj Jadhav is investigating.
