A Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus crashed into a wedding card printing shop at Appa Balwant Chowk in central Pune on Tuesday afternoon, April 22. The accident caused major damage to the shop after mishap. However, no injuries were reported in the incident. According to preliminary information, the bus driver lost control after brake failure.
The CCTV footage of the accident surfaced on social media showing a government bus ramming into parked two-wheelers before crashing to the roadside shop. The impact damaged the shop’s glass, furniture and materials, while several two-wheelers were also affected.
As there were no customers or staff inside the shop at the time and pedestrian movement was limited, according to report. Police from Vishrambag police station reached the spot soon after the incident and carried out a investigation.
Police launched a probe to find the exact cause of the accident. The shop owner has claimed losses worth several lakh rupees and has sought compensation.
