Pune: A driver posing as an IT manager deceived a young woman into marriage and subsequently subjected her to physical and mental abuse. Ambegaon police have registered a case against five individuals in connection with the incident. The accused have been identified as Deepak Daulatrao Murkute , Rekha Daulatrao Murkute , Rahul Daulatrao Murkute , Kalpana Pintu Mundhe , and Amruta Anand Shete .
It has come to light that these incidents began on May 25, 2025, in the Khandvenagar area of Kharadi and have continued up until the present day. A 26-year-old married woman has filed a formal complaint regarding this matter at the Ambegaon Police Station. According to information provided by the police, Deepak Murkute had been involved in a romantic relationship with another woman even prior to his marriage. However, he married the complainant by falsely claiming to be a manager at an IT company. It was subsequently revealed that, in reality, he was employed as a driver.
Following the marriage, the accused subjected the complainant to physical and mental torture, treating her with extreme cruelty. Unable to endure the constant harassment any longer, the married woman returned to her parents' home. She later filed a complaint with the police. Based on this complaint, the Ambegaon police have registered a case against the five individuals involved, and Assistant Police Inspector Bhojling Dodmise is conducting further investigations into the matter.
