Pune Horror: Minor Assaulted by Cousin, Forced into Child Marriage; Case Registered

Pune: A horrific incident of crime has came to light from Chakan area of Khed Taluka,  were a minor girl was allegedly subjected to repeated sexual assault by her cousin, who was entrusted with her care. In an attempt to hide the crime, the accused and his associates reportedly forced the victim into an illegal child marriage. In connection with this case, the North Chakan Police have registered a FIR against seven individuals, including the prime accused.

According to police, the minor victim had arrived at the residence of the prime accused, Kishore Waikar, in November 2025 to assist in caring for his pregnant wife. During this period, he allegedly betrayed her trust and repeatedly sexually assaulted her, threatening to leak her photographs online and kill her if she resisted. Meantime victim became pregnant and in fear of getting exposed he misled the doctor and gave her abortion pills. 

To hide the crime the accused allegedly arranged an illegal child marriage between the victim and his brother-in-law, Avinash Gode. The marriage reportedly took place on January 27, 2026, at a restaurant in Chakan. Police reported that, despite of being aware that the victim was minor accused repeatedly assaulted the victim. Frustrated by constant harassment, Victim approached police and filed complaint. 

Cases have been registered against Kishore Gangadhar Waikar, Avinash Balasaheb Gode, Gangadhar Chimaji Waikar, and Anna Morkar, along with three other women. The North Chakan Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Kadam, with Police Sub-Inspector Sangita Kadam leading further inquiries.
