A video from Pune district’s Kalewadi Phata area in Pimpri-Chinchwad has rapidly spread across social media platforms, drawing attention for an unusual stunt performed on a busy road. The footage shows two young men travelling on a two-wheeler while apparently taking a bath during the ride. In the viral clip, the pillion rider can be seen carrying a bucket and a mug, repeatedly pouring water over himself as well as the rider in front while the vehicle moves through traffic. The bizarre act has sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers treating it as humorous while others criticised the risky behaviour displayed in public.

Many social media users linked the incident to the severe summer conditions currently affecting Pune and several parts of Maharashtra. Temperatures across the region have been hovering between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius, while high humidity levels have added to public discomfort. Although some areas recently received light rainfall, the showers offered only temporary respite from the oppressive weather. The viral video has become a talking point as residents continue searching for ways to deal with the scorching heat. However, concerns are growing over dangerous stunts being performed on roads in the name of entertainment, relief from heat, or gaining attention online.

Road safety experts have warned that such behaviour can create serious risks for both the riders and other commuters. Pouring water while operating a moving two-wheeler can distract the rider and reduce concentration, increasing the possibility of accidents. Wet clothes, slippery seats, and reduced grip on the handlebar can make controlling the vehicle more difficult, especially on crowded roads. Specialists also noted that sudden body movements during such acts could affect vehicle balance and pose a threat to nearby motorists. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the viral incident, but officials continue urging citizens to follow traffic regulations and avoid reckless activities on public roads.

Experts further explained that bathing on a moving vehicle does not provide an effective solution to extreme heat, particularly in humid weather conditions. According to health professionals, the cooling effect lasts only briefly and may actually lead to discomfort after exposure to direct sunlight. If the water used is unclean, it could also result in skin irritation or infections. They emphasised that proper hydration, staying indoors during peak afternoon hours, and wearing light clothing remain safer methods to handle rising temperatures. Overall, the stunt has highlighted the growing influence of viral content culture while also raising important concerns regarding public safety and responsible behaviour.
