Pune: Minor Girl Goes Missing After Leaving Home for Wedding, Kidnapping Case Registered

A 17-year-old minor girl from Nalavane  left her home stating she was going to attend a wedding, however, as she failed to return, it is suspected that an unidentified individual lured her away and abducted her. In connection with this incident, a case of kidnapping has been registered against an unknown person at the Alephata Police Station.

Balshiram Gangaram Korke has lodged the formal complaint regarding this matter. His daughter, victim identified as Pooja, had left home on Wednesday, May 13, at 8:30 AM, telling her family that she was going to Ozar to attend a friend's wedding. When she did not return home even late into the night, relatives searched for her everywhere, but she could not be traced. Eventually, convinced that an unidentified individual had abducted her by enticing her with some lure, her father approached the police.

Police Constable Satish Tavhare of the Alephata Police Station is conducting further investigations into this incident. The public is urged to contact the Alephata Police if they come across a girl matching this description. In separate incident,  a 60-year-old homemaker was arrested Tuesday in Pune's Ambegaon Budruk for the alleged murder of her 80-year-old mother-in-law. Bharati Vidyapeeth police report the incident occurred around 2 pm, during which a domestic dispute escalated, leading to the homemaker fatally attacking her mother-in-law with a kitchen knife. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest and hands, and her throat was slit.

The victim's son discovered the body and his wife holding the knife upon returning home. He alerted police, and the accused also confessed to the crime. Police detained the suspect, recovered the weapon, and formally arrested her after obtaining court permission. Authorities are investigating the history of disputes and have recorded statements. The victim's body has been sent for autopsy, and forensic teams have examined the scene. Further legal action is pending the investigation's results.
