Pune–Mumbai Expressway Traffic News: Massive Snarl Near Khandala Tunnel During Shiv Jayanti Rush (Watch Video)

Major traffic jam reported on  Pune–Mumbai Expressway near the Khandala tunne on Thursday morning. Superintendent of Highway Safety Patrol (HSP), Pune, Vikarant Deshmukh, attributed increased expressway traffic to the Shivjayanti holiday. While he stated there was no severe jam, traffic moved slowly.

Videos circulating online showed vehicles stalled near the Khandala tunnel, with some individuals seen outside their cars awaiting the traffic to ease.

Earlier on Friday morning, weekend rush has slowdown the vehicular moment on Mumbai–Pune Expressway Traffic . Commuter faced sever congestion across the multiple stretches of highway. The surge included both private vehicles and commercial transport, intensifying pressure on the already busy corridor.

Office-goers, holidaymakers, and logistics operators were among those affected by the prolonged delays. Commuters reported being stuck in stationary traffic for more than 30 minutes, with long queues of vehicles forming early in the day.
