Pune Obscenity Case: Bhagyesh Oswal Granted Conditional Bail, Gaurav Ahuja Remains in Jail
A Pune court in Pune has granted conditional bail to Bhagyesh Oswal, the friend of Gaurav Ahuja, who was involved in a controversial incident where Ahuja urinated on a traffic signal pole. The incident occurred when Ahuja, allegedly drunk, parked his car in the middle of a busy intersection and engaged in obscene behavior.
First-Class Judicial Magistrate N. S. Bari approved bail for Oswal, setting the amount at 50,000 rupees. However, Ahuja’s bail plea was delayed after Yerwada police requested additional time to file their statement. As a result, Ahuja’s stay in jail has been extended.
Both Ahuja and Oswal were arrested by Yerwada police under multiple charges. The defense counsel for Oswal, Advocate Pushkar Durge, argued that Oswal's involvement in the incident was minimal. Durge stated that Oswal was sitting in the car and did not urinate on the street. He assured the court that Oswal would cooperate with the investigation.
The court considered the arguments and granted Oswal conditional bail. Ahuja's case remains pending as police seek more time to present their case.
