Pune: Police Arrest Habitual Offender Linked to Over 100 Theft Cases Across State; Cash and Laptop Recovered

Pune: A habitual offender with over a hundred registered cases of theft against him across the city and the state. The Alankar Police have arrested the accused and it has been revealed that the thief committed his crimes by smashing car windows to steal valuables; property worth ₹12.18 lakh has been seized from his possession. The arrested individual has been identified as Raju Baburao Javalkar .

Incidents involving the theft of valuables perpetrated by smashing car windows—had been on the rise in the Erandwane and Kothrud areas. The thieves had stolen items ranging from cash and jewelry to electronic goods. Cases regarding these incidents had been registered at the Alankar Police Station. The Alankar Police subsequently initiated an investigation, during which they scrutinized CCTV footage from the Erandwane and Kothrud localities. Acting on the intelligence gathered during the investigation, the police took Javalkar into custody. From him, the police seized property worth ₹12.18 lakh, including gold jewelry, a laptop, two mobile phones, cash, and a two-wheeler.

Javalkar has committed crimes across Pune city and district, as well as in the regions of Kolhapur, Satara, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahilyanagar, and Pimpri-Chinchwad. There are over a hundred cases of theft registered against him. This operation was executed by Senior Police Inspector Ulhas Kadam, Police Inspector Smita Patil, and Sub-Inspectors Ganesh Dixit, Mahesh Nimbalkar, Dheeraj Pawar, Someshwar Yadav, Madhuri Kumbhar, Rakesh Kshirsagar, Shivaji Shinde, Ashish Rathod, and Vishal More.
