A shocking incident has come to light from Geeta Nagar area of Mira Road, Thane district on Suday where a married woman allegedly died by suicide after consuming poison after a verbal fight with her husband. In connection with the case, the Nayanagar Police have registered a case against two people, including the husband, for allegedly abetting the woman to die by suicide.
Avinash Pawar and his wife, Shravani Pawar, lived in the Jai Shivmangal Building in Geeta Nagar Phase-2, Mira Road East. On May 7, around noon, a heated domestic dispute reportedly broke out between the couple. Following the argument, Shravani allegedly consumed poisonous medicine kept in the house.

After her condition deteriorated, she was immediately rushed to the nearby Tunga Hospital. Shravani’s father, 69-year-old Pronob Kole, a resident of Bhayandar, was informed by his son-in-law that his daughter was unwell and had been admitted to hospital. However, after reaching the hospital, he allegedly learnt from neighbours that Shravani had consumed poison following a fight at home.
Doctors declared Shravani dead before admission. Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s father, Pronob Kole, the Nayanagar Police registered a case against husband Avinash Pawar and Shashikala Pawar under charges related to abetment of suicide. Assistant Police Inspector Shailendra Patil is carrying out further investigation.
