The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced a scheduled water supply shutdown from Thursday, May 7, to Friday, May 8, due to maintenance work being carried out by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

According to the civic body, the maintenance work includes the upgradation of Barvi gravity pipelines 1, 2 and 3 at the reservoir of the Jambhul Water Treatment Plant. Water supply will remain suspended for 24 hours from 12 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2026, to 12 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026.

The affected areas include Diva, Mumbra and Kalwa ward committee areas. Water supply will also remain suspended in Rupadevi Pada, Kisannagar No. 2, Nehru Nagar and Kolshet Khalcha Gaon under the Manpada and Wagle ward committees.

TMC said some parts of Mumbra under Ward Nos. 26 and 31 may continue to receive water supply during the shutdown period.

The civic body has appealed to residents to store adequate water in advance and use it sparingly during the disruption. Officials also warned that after the supply resumes on Friday, some areas may experience low water pressure for one to two days.

For the past several days, water supply disruptions have been reported in parts of Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli due to ongoing maintenance and infrastructure-related works.
