London [United Kingdom], April 23 : Riyad Mahrez's hattrick broke a couple of records in the FA Cup, as Manchester City sealed a spot in the final of the tournament against Sheffield United on Saturday at the Wembley Stadium.The Algerian's first-half penalty broke the deadlock in the first half of the game. He added two more to his tally in the second half with a dazzling run just after the hour mark to make it 2-0 and then he completed his hattrick with a sweeping finish five minutes later.After completing his hat trick the Algerian winger becomes the first Manchester City player to score a hat trick at Wembley. Along with this, he also scored the first-ever FA Cup semi-final hat-trick at Wembley, and the first in the semi-final of the competition overall since Alex Dawson in 1958 (Man Utd against Fulham).With a 3-0 scoreline City became the first team to reach the FA Cup final without conceding a goal since Everton in 1965-66.City has lost three straight times in the semifinals of this competition, but their trip to the FA Cup final will help them in their quest to win three trophies at the end of this campaign.In an effort to match their neighbours Manchester United's 1998-1999 treble feats, City will play host to struggling Premier League leaders Arsenal on Wednesday night at the Etihad. In 23 games after the World Cup break, he has now contributed to 19 goals (12 goals and seven assists).It became a procession from that point on. The celebrations for Sheffield United, who have now lost their last six FA Cup semifinals, may take place in midweek.
