Biden added, "we're also blocking four more major banks. That means every asset they have in America will be frozen.""This is going to impose a severe cost on the Russian economy, both immediately and over time. We have purposefully designed these sanctions to maximize a long-term impact on Russia and to minimize the impact on the United States and our allies," he said.Furthermore, the EU demanded Putin to cease Russian military operations immediately and unconditionally withdraw all forces and military equipment from the entire territory of Ukraine."Russia bears full responsibility for this act of aggression and all the destruction and loss of life it will cause.
