Nagpur, Feb 27During the Sero survey conducted in the month of September in Nagpur district, anti-bodies were found developed in 49.7 per cent of population in city and 21.7 per cent population in rural area. Vaccination was also started during the same period, but the fear of corona in the minds of people also started diminishing and corona infection again started rising.Taking into consideration the rising rate, divisional commissioner Dr Sanjeev Kumar insisted on screening the people who got the infection, but were asymptomatic. The people who got infected, but were not aware of it, witness surge in anti-bodies. To find out about those people, Dr Kumar along with head of PSM HoD, GMCH Dr Uday Narlawar initiated a survey in 13 tehsils as well as 10 zone under the jurisdiction of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and 2,000 people were made to under go the Sero survey. After the survey it was discovered that among the six constituencies in Nagpur, the people of East Nagpur had developed more anti-bodies compared to other areas. Now again the coronavirus threat is increasing and hence it is decided to undertake another Sero survey in the district.Talking to Lokmat Times Dr Narlawar informed that based on the last survey, around 4,000 people from city and rural areas will be screened and the responsibility of the same will be with GMCH’s PSM department.
