This year, Gudi Padwa will be celebrated on Thursday, March 19, 2026. March 18 is the new moon of Phalguna and it ends on the morning of March 19. Therefore, according to the scriptures, March 19 is the right day to start the new year.Time to erect the Gudi:On the morning of March 19, the 'Kshaya' of Chaitra Shuddha Pratipada is observed. This means that the new year's date applies only after the end of the new moon. The new moon will end at 6:52 am. After that, that is, after 6:53 am, you can erect the Gudi anytime.Preparation of the Gudi:A tall bamboo stick (cleanly washed).Silk or rich new clothes.Neem twig and mango leaves.Flower garland (with knot - sugar garland).Copper or silver copper (kalash).2.
