19-year-old youth drowns in water at Pishor

A 19-year-old youth drowned in a well in the outskirts of Pishor. The incident came to light on Wednesday around 4 PM. The deceased has been identified as Gaurav Tompe (Digar, Pishor, tehsil Kannad).

Gaurav left home on Tuesday night without informing anyone. The next day, Wednesday, when farmers went to start an electric pump in the field, they discovered the youth’s body in the well. On careful examination, it was confirmed to be Gaurav. Relatives rushed to the site, retrieved the body, and immediately admitted him to Pishor Rural Hospital, where medical officers declared him dead. At 6 pm, Gaurav Tompe was cremated amid a sorrowful atmosphere. Pishor police have registered this as an accidental death based on medical officers’ information. The cause of Gaurav’s death remains unclear, and investigation by Jamadar Vasant Patil is ongoing to determine whether it was suicide or foul play.
