Aurangabad, March 18:

A conman was booked with City Chowk Police Station for cheating three persons to Rs 5.50 lakh on the pretext of allotting Setu Suvidha Kendra (Common Service Centre) of CMS.

The conman has been identified as Syed Fahad. Shaikh Malik Ahmed Shaikh Mustaque Ahmed (32, Subhedari Guest House) got acquainted with Syed Fahad in 2007. Fahad was running Global Setu Suvidha Kendra at Shahbazaar at that time.

The accused had got tender CMS Suvidha Kendra. He took Rs 2.50 lakh from Shaikh Malik on the pretext of selling Suvidha Kendra. Malik did not know that Suvidha Kendra is non-transferable.

Malik also informed his friend Syed Meraj and Shaikh Afroz of running the service centre. Fahad also took Rs 1.50 lakh from Meraj and Afroz each.

The accused took a total of Rs 5.50 lakh from the trio in 2010 but did not give the service centre. Realising that they were cheated, Shaikh Malik complained to City Chowk Police. PSI Tangade is on the case.
