Aurangabad, July 3:

The administration has underlined that 30.62 percent of citizens from the urban sector (Aurangabad Municipal Corporation limit) and 15.78 percent from the rural sector have taken the first dose of vaccine, so far. The total target of health administration is to vaccinate 32.87 lakh persons, out of which, 6.93 lakh had taken the vaccine. The average vaccination percentage of the district is 21.09 pc. It may be noted that the vaccination drive in the district got started on January 16, 2021.

According to a press release, the target of administration is to vaccinate 21.10 lakh persons in the rural sector, out of which, 3.33 lakh (15.78 pc) citizens (of age 45 years and above, health care workers, frontline workers, etc) had been vaccinated till to date. The target of vaccination in the AMC jurisdiction is 11.76 lakh, out of which, 3.60 lakh (30.62 pc) citizens had taken the vaccine till July 3.

Poor percentage of the second dose

The release stated that 75,163 persons (3.56 pc) had taken the second dose and 1,05, 541 (8.97 pc) had taken the second dose). Precisely, a total of 1.80 lakh, (average 5.50 pc) had taken the second dose in the district.
