Aurangabad, July 7:

An air of disappointment is prevailing amongst 50,000 or more citizens, who are impatiently waiting to get their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, for the past many days. All of them have underlined that they had completed the gap of 84 days after the first dose of the vaccine.

They pointed out that the shortage of vaccines is irritating them. Moreover, no authority is able to predict when would the fresh stock of vaccines will be supplied to the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Besides, the SMS alerts to take the second dose of vaccine are making them restless.

The AMC started a vaccination drive for the citizens of age 18 to 44 years from June 22. On Monday, the AMC got 10,000 doses of vaccine, which got finished in one day on Tuesday. As a result, the drive got derailed on Wednesday and Thursday. It may be noted that a total of 4.79 lakh citizens had taken the vaccines. It includes 3.68 lakh first doses and 1.11 lakh second doses.
