560 candidates registered for M Phil CET; today last date of applying

Aurangabad, Nov 9:

As many as 560 candidates registered for the M Phil Common Entrance Test (M Phil CET) till Monday.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) started online registration for the test on November 1. Its last date is November 10. The online CET will be conducted on November 20.

It may be noted M Phil course will be scrapped with the implementation of New Education Policy from 2022. The university decided to continue the course as it is still in demand, and students get a fellowship from different organisations including Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), University Grants Commission (UGC). There are 18 departments which offer the course.

They are Department of Marathi, Hindi, English, History, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration, Mathematics, Commerce, Pali and Buddhism, Urdu, Library and Information Science, Computer Science, Physical Education, Education, Journalism and MBA.

A total of 560 students registered for the test. The highest number of registered in the Political Science department while more than 50 aspirants in Marathi, English, History, Sociology and Commerce.

All those students who are in the final year of the postgraduate courses are eligible to apply for the test. The result will be declared on November 21 while classes will commence from December 1.
