Aurangabad, April 20:

Around 1.75 lakh people were administered COVID vaccine in the district to contain its spread.

A total of 65 per cent who took the first or second dose of vaccine were detected positive to pandemic virus.

The number of such patients may go up as the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has no record of them.

The vaccination began on January 16. The phase of administering vaccines to those who are 45 and above years of age commenced on April first.

Experts feel that vaccination can bring the situation under control. The AMC completed the vaccination of 1.75 lakh citizens so far while 65 of them were detected positive.

AMC medical officer Dr Megha Jogdand said that there is no life threat to vaccinated patients than others.“The effect of virus not much on such patients,” she added.
