Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

At least nine people from the Marathwada region of Maharashtra find themselves stranded in the UAE, with the true number potentially running far higher, as conflict continues to escalate across the Middle East.

The divisional commissioner's office has confirmed that seven individuals are currently in Dubai three from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, three from Jalna, and one from Hingoli while two more from Jalna are stuck in Abu Dhabi. Most had traveled for tourism or other purposes, and now find themselves unable to return amid the deteriorating security situation.

Officials caution that hundreds more may be affected. Because many residents travel through private tour operators rather than official channels, comprehensive data has been difficult to obtain, and a full count is still under way. Authorities are now working directly with travel operators to close the information gap.

The state emergency department has circulated Indian embassy contact numbers to all district collectorates and is urging families to report stranded relatives to their local administration. Meanwhile, Indian missions across the Gulf have issued security advisories covering the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan. Both central and state governments are advising Indian nationals in the region to stay vigilant and refrain from non-essential travel until conditions stabilize.
