Accident victim gets Rs 95.60 L compensation

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: District Judge and Member of the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) Rajesh D. Patil, on January 14, 2026, ordered the car driver, owner, and insurance company to jointly pay a compensation of Rs 95.60 lakh to an engineer who was seriously injured and suffered 80 per cent disability in a motorcycle and car accident.

How accident happened

Amol Vitthal Sagade (28), a resident of Itkheda, was travelling on a motorcycle with Vitthal Sagade at around 5.15 PM, on February 4, 2023, from Pachod towards Ambad.

When they reached the Shirner area, a speeding car coming from the opposite direction hit their motorcycle forcefully. Amol sustained serious injuries to his head, shoulder, and thigh in the accident.

He suffered 80 per cent disability. He was working as an engineer in a company in Bangalore. He had filed a claim in the tribunal for compensation. After the hearing, the tribunal issued the above order.
