The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today organised various programmes including a health check-up camp at the five shelter homes, built for homeless citizens in the city, to observe World Homeless Day.

The AMC had built the shelter homes under National Urban Livelihood Mission at Gandhinagar, Moti Karanja, Railway Station, Chikalthana and N-6 Cidco for homeless citizens staying in the city. The AMC operates the shelter homes with the help of NGOs.

The assistant commissioner Nandkishore Bhombe visited all the five shelter homes. The AMC had organised health check-up camps, guidance lecture, counselling for inmates of shelter homes. The civic body also launched a drive to find homeless citizens in the city. The project manager Surendra Patil, Dr Farukh Patel, Prashant Gaikwad, Sanjay Devatwal and Prashant Dande were present on occasion.
