Aurangabad, June 18:
The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has restored the traffic on road passing through the Barapulla Gate, by re-erecting the steel mesh on the bridge adjacent to the heritage structure, after 10 days. It may be noted that the AMC has installed the steel mesh on the old bridge, but due to stormy weather, the mesh got uprooted and fell on the road on June 7 evening. As a result, the traffic on the old bridge was diverted to the new bridge and then the restoration work was undertaken. The steel mesh has now been fixed and the road is opened for traffic. Hence the vehicle-owners can use the old route while proceeding from Kotwalpura to Cantonment and other areas, while they will have to take the route of the new bridge while coming from Cantonment to Kotwalpura, said the officials. The AMC got the mesh installed through Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL).
