Aurangabad, Feb 16:

The Nagarik Mitra Pathak (NMP) of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had seized 27.5 kg of banned plastic carry bags from the possession of one Harishankar Brijmohan Sharma of Uttaranagari in Chikalthana MIDC area on Monday. The AMC squad lodged a police complaint against him.

It so happened that the NMP team comprising Pramod Jadhav, Kisan Nikam, Kishore Bhagwat, Santosh Bankar and Machindra Wagh were patrolling in Chikalthana MIDC area on Monday. When they spotted a huge quantity of plastic carry bags in possession of Sharma and questioned him, but he gave evasive replies. He also behaved rudely with the squad, claimed NMP. The squad members then told him to pay the fine, but he refused by saying do whatever you want to do? Acting upon the orders of the solid waste management (SWM) head Nandkishore Bhombe, the squad seized the stock of the carry bags of less than 50 microns thickness and lodged a complaint against Sharma.
