Aurangabad, March 4:

The health officials of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation

(AMC) today showed their inability to keep a vigil on Covid Care Centres (CCCs) in the city due to the absence of required staff. This was informed by civic officials to the district administration during a telephonic conversation held between them in connection with the Padampura CCC incident today.

The district administration contacted the civic health officials and told them to take appropriate measures at the CCC, but the latter clarified that they deprive of staff. When the district administration instructed the head of the department (HoD) to visit at each CCC daily and review the number of patients admitted, the total number of staff on duty and lend ears to the patients' problems. As a result, the AMC health officials claimed that there is no adequate staff at the CCCs, so what is the use of paying visits?

The acting collector Anant Gavhane said, " In the backdrop of the Padampura CCC, I had contacted the AMC's health officers and instructed them to keep a vigil on each CCC in the city. If they do not have the required staff, then the district administration would arrange for it. We cannot take the issue of CCCs security for granted."
