Aurangabad, July 13:

If the sources are to be believed, the health section of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is planning to halt the vaccination drive for the citizens seeking the first dose of their vaccine. It may be noted that more than 70,000 citizens are waiting to get their second dose of vaccine for the past many weeks.

The inadequate supply of vaccines has disturbed the schedule of AMC. On Monday night, it had received stock of 5,000 doses, which got finished in one and a half hours, on Tuesday. There will be no vaccination drive on Wednesday.

It may be noted that thousands of citizens had completed the gap of 84 days after their first dose of vaccine and are eagerly waiting for the second dose. Presently, the vaccination centres of AMC witness long queues since 5 am. The aspirants are in queues to obtain the token number. Each centre gives 150 vaccines only. The civic administration is consistently demanding to supply adequate quantity of vaccine but is in vain. Reviewing the strength of citizens for the second dose, the AMC is planning to reserve the fresh stock of the vaccine for them. The AMC will take a decision is this regard soon, said the sources.
