AMC waiting for service recruitment rules; reservation roster for fresh appointments

Aurangabad, Feb 16:

The state government had approved the new staffing pattern of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) with the inclusion of 953 newly created posts, on Monday. However, the civic body is waiting to receive service recruitment rules (SCR) and reservation roster (Bindunamavali) to undertake the recruitment drive. Meanwhile, the AMC headquarter witnessed a sudden rush of educated unemployed youths to inquire about the details about the recruitment, since today morning.

Presently, there are 4,763 sanctioned posts in AMC, and the SCR and roster in this regard already exist. The experts underlined that the AMC would be able to appoint fresh posts after receiving them, soon.

It may be noted that the government had also confirmed 1,078 posts which were filled up by the AMC without government's approval. The sanction of the new staffing pattern is done on conditions that the government will not provide any fund to it, and the AMC will have to ensure that its establishment expense does not exceed 35 per cent. However, it is feared that the establishment expense would exceed 40 pc even if the AMC decided to fill up at least 50 per cent posts out of the newly-created posts. Hence the administration is struggling to find a way to overcome this critical situation. Meanwhile, the government had also approved the AMC to outsource some services if it feels mandatory and is important. However, the AMC had already recruited a majority of the employees through outsourcing agencies, who are working in various sections for the past seven years. The question of Maratha reservation in the recruitment has also emerged before the AMC, it is learnt.

The GR of 28 pages mentioned details about the newly sanctioned posts and staff expansion in various offices. The copy is being circulated widely since yesterday evening. Many of them were seen presenting or obtaining photostat copies of the GR.
