Appointment of 10 co-opted members on April 1
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
After the municipal corporation elections, all political parties and workers were eagerly awaiting the announcement of the schedule for the election of ten co-opted members. On Friday evening, the municipal secretary’s office released the official programme.
The applications will be available at the municipal secretary’s office from 10 am to 6 pm between March 18 and 25. The office will remain closed due to holidays on March 19, 21, and 22. From March 24 to 30, applications can be submitted between 10 am and 3 pm, but the office will be closed on March 26, 28, and 29. On April 1 at 11 am, the municipal commissioner will scrutinise the received applications in his chamber.
Following this, the commissioner will consult with the group leaders of all political parties and submit proposals to the mayor based on proportional strength. The mayor will then announce the names of the co-opted members in the upcoming general body meeting. Considering party strength, five of the ten members are expected to be from the BJP, three from AIMIM, and one each from the Shinde Sena and the Uddhav Sena.
