Aurangabad, March 3:

A man beat and threatened an assistant from the MIDC water supply department who had gone to cut off the company's water connection due to non-payment of the water bill. The incident took place on March 2 in Chikalthana industrial area. A case was registered at MIDC Cidco police station.

The accused is identified as Naeem Mehmood (Chikalthana MIDC). According to the police, the complainant Sandu Trimbak Narwade is working in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). He works as an assistant to the deputy engineer of the water supply department. The Maharashtra metal company in Chikalthana has a pending water bill of Rs 39,024. Hence Narwade along with labourer Chandrakant Bhagwat Kasab had gone to the company to disconnect the water connection. Meanwhile accused Naeem who was present on the spot abused and thrashed Narwade. Later Narwade lodged a complaint at the MIDC Cidco police station. SI Amarnath Nagre is investigating the case.
