Aurangabad, March 9:

The administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University(Bamu)has suspended the biometric attendance of contractual staff because of a rise in the number of Novel coronavirus patients.

The university installed biometric machines in various departments, including academic and administrative, to record accurate attendance details, contractual skilled and unskilled, sanitation employees and security guards.

The number of COVID patients in the city has increased during the last few weeks.

Considering this, the university administration decided to suspend biometric attendance and go for the traditional attendance system until COVID situation comes under control. The registrar issued a letter for this purpose recently.
