The administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) will appoint three new statutory officers soon.

With posts of full-time statutory officers and deans lying vacant for the past few years, work of the university has been affected. Vice chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole had appointed full-time registrar, seven statutory officers, including four deans, director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation in March 2021. Of them, the dean of humanities faculty Dr Prashant Amrutkar and director of innovation, incubation and linkages, left in October 2020.

Bamu invited online applications for the posts of director of innovation, incubation and linkages, Students Development Department and dean of humanities faculty. It received 35 applications for the three posts.

The post of Students Development Department director has been lying vacant for four years. It received seven applications for the post of dean, 18 for incubation centre director and 10 for Students Development Department. The new statutory officers are likely to be appointed soon.
