Bamu to get 75 K Euros fund under MERGE project
Aurangabad, Dec 2:
Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University under the European Union’s ‘MERGE’ will get EU 75,000 project for improving internationalisation practices in South Asian higher education.
University of Genoa of Italy, Agora Institute-Spain and Universitatea Lucian Blaga din Sibiu-Romani are participating in the project from Europe side. The University of Genoa is a coordinating institute in the project.
There are six partner country universities from India and other Asian countries. A total of two are from India (Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and Anna University Chennai),
two from Nepal (Mid-Western University and Tribhuvan University) and two universities from Afghanistan (Kabul and Nangarhar Universities).
Centre for International Relations director Dr Vandana Hiwrale said that two universities from India were selected for the project. Earlier Bamu completed Erasmus CBHE project successfully.
A 45-member regional network will be established to encourage regional cooperation and integration to increase MERGE exposure on the international platform. BAMU will receive 75000 euros for this project.
Commenting on this, VC Dr Pramod Yeole said “In post-globalisation, exchange of information and research in national and international university has increased. Our university will give preference to research and innovation through incubation centre. It is a matter of pride for all stakeholders of Bamu to get European MERGE project.”
