Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

In a shocking incident at the world-famous Ajanta caves on Sunday around 2 pm, a swarm of bees attacked tourists. The bees from a hive located above Cave No. 26 stung visitors, injuring seven people four men and three women.

Officials said the bees turned aggressive due to rising temperatures. Four of the injured were administered primary treatment at the Archaeological Department’s office, while the remaining tourists were shifted to a private hospital for further medical care. With the intense heat triggering bee activity in the cave area, concerns have been raised over tourist safety, and demands are growing for the administration to implement preventive measures.
