Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “The ideology of Bhartiay Janata Party (BJP) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is communal. Both parties are doing politics on the strength of Hindu-Muslim votes. Their job is to incite the youth. Both thee parties do not want secular parties. They worked to eliminate secular parties at the national and state levels. Therefore, we have given an alternative in the name of Indian Secular Largest Assembly of Maharashtra (ISLAM). Our party is secular. The future direction will be decided by taking into account all castes and religions” said Shaikh Asif, its party chief at a press conference.
Iftar party was organised by the Islam Party in Katkatgate area on Monday evening. Earlier, speaking at a press conference, Asif said that a meeting of the State-level office bearers of our party would be held in Mumbai after the month of Ramadan and a concrete decision would be taken regarding the expansion of the party.
He mentioned that the core committee would look after the work before announcing the executive committee in this city. He announced the core committee.
“In this city, all parties have taken MLA, MP posts. No one has solved the water issue. We will work to solve the issues of the citizens. Our committee will help the citizens for the SIR survey. We have come to this city as an alternative.The party will be expanded everywhere in the State,” he said.
Rafat Yarkhan, Kalim Qureshi, Abul Hasan Hashmi, Abu Lala Hashmi, Salim Patel Borgaonkar were present at the press conference.

Went to Aurangzeb's grave
“The month of Ramadan is going on. After offering prayers one afternoon in Khuldabad, I went to the dargah next door. There was also the grave of Aurangzeb next door. I went there too and prayed. There is nothing wrong with that. I have been to the dargah in Khuldabad many times before. I am from this soil and a son of the soil,” Asif said in response to a question.

Asif clarified that it is certain that the Islam Party would open its account no matter what election is held in the city.
