The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar bench of the Maharashtra State Information Commission disposed of a large number of RTI cases over the last two years, leading to a sharp reduction in pendency.

Official data shows that the bench disposed of 14,001 second appeals in 2024 and 10,783 in 2025. During this period, the disposal rate of complaints increased nearly tenfold, while the pendency of second appeals declined by about 55 per cent. According to official data, complaint redressal increased by 10 per cent in 2025. Pending complaints reduced from 165 at the end of 2024 to 85 by December 2025, a fall of 51 per cent. State Information Commissioner Prakash Indalkar said the focus remains on timely disposal through planned functioning, disciplined hearings, and use of technology, with continued efforts to further reduce pendency under the RTI Act.
