Chavan instructs civic officials to be on toes for successful implementation of Covid-19 vaccine programme
Aurangabad, Dec 28:
The district collector and the acting municipal commissioner Sunil Chavan today reviewed the preparations made by health administration (at urban level) to implement the special Covid-19 immunisation programme, at the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), today afternoon.
The additional commissioner B B Nemane, the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar, deputy commissioner Sumant More, all ward officers and zonal medical officers were present in the meeting.
He instructed the ward officers and zonal medical officers to encourage all the doctors and paramedical staff (of government and private hospitals) in their respective jurisdictions to register their names online for administering the Covid-19 vaccine, by this Friday.
" Each officer and employee of AMC are frontline workers. Hence, their names should be uploaded on the mobile app without fail," said Chavan adding to establish booths so that the persons taking vaccine do not face any convenience. He also inspected the Covid War Room.
The AMC officials mentioned forming an executive body in each zone to smooth the special immunisation programme''s smooth execution.
Training on Dec 19
Earlier, the World Health Organisation (WHO) surveillance officer Dr Syed Mujeeb conducted a workshop to guide the AMC on implementation of vaccination programme at MGM Hall on December 19. AMC medical officers, health staff, pharmacists and representatives of various doctors'' organisations were present.
Chavan also instructed the Zonal Task Force Committee (ZTFC) to conduct a meeting every week.
AMC to set up 100 booths
Dr Neeta Padalkar said, " The programme to administer vaccine is planned on the lines of election preparations. A total of 100 booths will be established in various parts of the city (including primary health centres) to administer the vaccine. There are no complaints about the Covid-19 vaccine. It develops immunisation and develops the ability to combat even with the new variant of Coronavirus."
