City bus service resumes via Gulmandi after 25 years

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

City bus services on the railway station to university route were resumed from May 1, with a formal inauguration held on Friday morning. Notably, buses will now ply via the Gulmandi route after a gap of 25 years.

The service was introduced following a suggestion by standing committee chairman Anil Makariye. Present on the occasion were mayor Sameer Rajurkar, deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal, opposition leader Abdul Sameer Sajid, chairman Jalinder Shendge, corporators Kirti Shinde, Seema Salve, Amruta Palodkar, Neel Pagare, Mohammed Asrar and executive engineer Amol Kulkarni. The bus was flagged off at Kranti Chowk after paying tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The bus will run through key stops including railway station, Kranti Chowk, Nutan Colony, Paithan Gate, Gulmandi, Khadkeshwar, Mill Corner and the university.
