City hospitality sector staring at shutdown; AHRA calls for urgent remedial measures in view of LPG crisis

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Aurangabad Hotels and Restaurants Association has said that its members are facing severe operational and financial distress currently due to disruption in commercial LPG supply.

The shortage of LPG cylinders has compelled many establishments to partially suspend or curtail operations. Reduced capacity has directly impacted revenues and cash flows.

Raising a serious concern over the grim situation, the AHRA said in a Press statement issued here on Friday that due to lack of approval for even partial LPG supply (70–80%), several establishments have shut down, while many are on the verge of closure.

The crisis threatens thousands of jobs, supply chain including farmers and vendors, government tax revenues, and tourism and local economy.

The AHRA has appealed to the district collector and divisional commissioner for urgent intervention. If immediate relief is not provided, the situation could escalate into a major economic and employment crisis, said AHRA president Harpreet Singh.
