Aurangabad, Feb 27:

Municipal administration Astik Kumar Pandey has taken up cleaning work of Kham river through public participation. The mission began four weeks ago. On Saturday, citizens planted 500 trees and picked up 10 tonnes of garbage. Pandey appealed to the artists to join the initiative and enhance the beauty of the walls near the river bank.

Municipal administrator Astik Kumar Pandey has undertaken the task of reviving the river through the My Vasundhara initiative. For this, the campaign is being carried out jointly by the municipal corporation, Smart City, cantonment board, Eco Sattva and Varroc. Plants are being planted near the river. Pandey clarified that a walking track would be constructed by planting bamboo, banyan and peepal trees near the income tax office in the cantonment area. Nandkishore Bhombe, head, solid waste management department, Siddharth Bansod, Aditya Tiwari, Abhilasha Agarwal, Aditi Pujari, Asadullah Khan, Eco Sattva team and Azhar Pathan of Life Care NGO, Shramik multipurpose development organizations and other NGOs were involved in the campaign.
