Collector pays surprise visit to inspect construction of roads ongoing from state''s fund of Rs 152 cr

The district collector and the acting administrator of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Sunil Chavan, today paid surprise visits to inspect the ongoing construction of roads, through state government''s fund of Rs 152 crore, in the morning. Chavan instructed the contractors as well as the officers concerned to maintain the quality of roads and footpaths.
The AMC administrator A K Pandey is on leave from December 25 to January 3 (10 days). After taking over the charge as administrator, Chavan, on the very first day, decided to inspect the roads ongoing in different parts of the city. The additional municipal commissioners B B Nemane and R P Nikam, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation''s (MSRDC) Ashok Ingle, AMC''s executive engineer Hemant Kolhe, assistant director (town planning) Jayant Kharwadkar and Maharashtra Industries Development Corporation''s (MIDC) assistant engineer Ganesh Mulikar were present during the inspection.
The district collector instructed to ensure that the curing of roads is done properly after construction; maintain surface level and height of roads; develop parking bay and auto-rickshaw stand on each road; beautify dividers, develop green cover etc. He also suggested protecting trees on roads through the erection of fencing around them.
The bureaucrat inspected the road adjacent to the district collectorate, Jalgaon Road, Cidco Bus Stand, Prozone Mall to Kalagram Road and road adjacent to MGM Hospital.
