District collector Sunil Chavan informed that his appointment as an election observer for the Bihar Assembly elections has been canceled. Collector Chavan is the assistant returning officer of Marathwada Graduate Constituency and has been given responsibility to all the officers. Notification for the graduate constituency election is expected this weekend.
The appointment of Chavan as an observer for the Bihar elections had created a lot of confusion. The district administration is responsible for the overall management for graduate elections. Therefore, it is necessary to have a full time collector here. Therefore, it has been decided to hand over the responsibility of Chavan to someone else.
