Colleges asked not to hold ceremony for degree presentation

Aurangabad, June 17:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) asked colleges not to hold any programme for degree distribution. The university will organise the 61st convocation day ceremony online on June 25.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole, Pro-Vc Dr Shyam Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi, director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil, Management Council members and deans will attend the programme.

A total of 15 committees were set up for the preparations. The dignitaries will attend the ceremony online. Students will not be allowed to attend the programme.

After weeks of the convocation ceremony, students' degrees of undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be sent to colleges. The colleges organise a programme to give away the degrees. This year, colleges will not be able to host the programme to reduce the spread of Covid 19.

A total of 83,000 degrees for B A, B Com, B Sc, postgraduate, M Phil and Ph D research, and professional courses like Engineering, Pharmacy and Law are being printed for the ceremony. Ph D will be presented to researchers on June 25 after the convocation ceremony.
